AS9541 (CYBERNET-AP) is held by Cyber Internet Services (Pvt) Ltd — "Cybernet", a Karachi-based Pakistani internet service provider and part of the Lakson Group. Cybernet sells fibre connectivity, data-centre and cloud services to Pakistani enterprises and carriers, and runs StormFiber, its fibre-to-the-home brand. This AS is the company's principal network and carries both sides of that business.

What it's used for

RIS shows 708 IPv4 prefixes covering 224,512 addresses, 222 IPv6 prefixes, and 170 observed neighbours. The neighbour count pins down the role: 170 is far too many for a pure eyeball network of this size, which would sit in the single or low double digits, but well short of the hundreds-to-thousands a wholesale transit carrier accumulates. It is the profile of a national ISP that peers widely, sits on the local exchanges and carries a modest downstream cone of enterprise and smaller-operator customers alongside its own subscribers.

The IPv4 estate is heavily fragmented — a 153.117.0.0/16 at the top, then many /21s, /22s and /23s drawn from unrelated blocks (202.47.x, 103.26.x, 175.107.x, 72.255.x, 139.135.x, 36.255.x, 61.5.x, 192.140.x). That patchwork is what a growing ISP in a region with tight IPv4 supply ends up holding: space acquired in small pieces from APNIC and via transfers.

Notable

• The IPv6 side is the more striking number. 222 prefixes, including /40s and /41s alongside a long tail of /48s, is far more v6 work than most networks this size have done. The pattern — large blocks for subscriber pools, individual /48s for customer sites — matches an operator serving consumers and businesses on one AS.
