AS9905 LINKNET-ID-AP Linknet ASN

AS9905 (LINKNET-ID-AP) is held by PT Link Net Tbk, an Indonesian fixed-broadband and pay-TV operator. It sells residential service under the First Media brand over a hybrid fibre-coax and FTTH footprint, and enterprise connectivity, data-centre and cloud services under the Link Net brand. The company is part of the Axiata group.

What it's used for

An access network with a business arm bolted on. RIS sees 91 IPv4 prefixes carrying 82,944 addresses, 18 IPv6 prefixes out of 2405:100::/32, and 49 observed BGP neighbours. That combination reads as an eyeball ISP rather than a carrier: a large customer address pool relative to a peering fabric of a few dozen sessions, which is what an Indonesian access provider ends up with once it joins the local exchanges and buys a couple of international transits.

Reverse DNS is uniform and self-owned: nearly every sampled address resolves to ln-static-<a>-<b>-<c>-<d>.link.net.id. The static in that template is the useful part. These are statically assigned public addresses, the kind handed to business subscribers and to residential customers on a fixed-IP tier, not the dynamic pool a mass-market cable ISP usually exposes. One sampled address breaks the pattern with a customer-owned name (dev.facsekuritas.co.id), confirming that hosted business customers live in the same space.

• The v4 footprint is assembled from three distinct blocks (139.0/139.195/139.255, 202.77, 202.137) and heavily deaggregated down to /21s and /22s, typical of an operator that has grown by successive APNIC allocations.
• IPv6 is deployed and announced, which is not universal among Indonesian fixed operators.
