Linknet-Exchange-AS-ID belongs to PT Link Net Tbk, the Jakarta cable and fibre operator behind the First Media and FastNet consumer brands. AS7632 is the company's peering and exchange AS, registered in PeeringDB as First Media Exchange.

What it's used for

• Peering and interconnect for Link Net. It carries a large share of the group's inbound traffic and sits in front of the much bigger subscriber network on [AS23700](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS23700).
• The small IPv4 footprint it originates itself, a single 111.95.244.0/22 split into a handful of announcements, is subscriber space: reverse DNS reads fm-dyn-IP-ADDR.fast.net.id, the dynamic pool naming used for FastNet home broadband.
• A much larger IPv6 inventory, including 2400:4c80::/32 and a set of /48s carved out of it.

Notable

• The name is a trap in the usual direction. Linknet-Exchange sounds like an internet exchange point; it is not one. It is an ISP's own peering AS, and the addresses it announces are ordinary Indonesian home-broadband customers.
• Because the IPv4 here is dynamic residential pool space, an address seen from AS7632 is most likely a First Media/FastNet household in Jakarta or one of the other cities Link Net serves.

Interesting

• Link Net runs several ASNs at once. The consumer network proper is AS23700, and AS9905 is a further Link Net registration. AS7632's low number is the oldest of the set, dating from the era when the company first took up its own routing.
