AS8880 AII-AS0

AII-AS0 is held by Economedia AD, Bulgaria's largest business-media publisher. Its titles include the weekly Capital, the daily Dnevnik, Karieri, Regal and Bacchus. The AS carries the publisher's own systems, not a customer network.

What it's used for

Corporate and publishing infrastructure for a single media group. AS8880 announces four /24s (~1,024 addresses) with just two observed neighbours, so it is a small multi-homed end site. The sampled reverse DNS lands on etaligent.net, a technology operation absorbed into the Economedia orbit, which is why the handle and the reverse DNS do not obviously match the publisher's name.

Notable

• The handle AII-AS0 says nothing useful, and the reverse-DNS domain names a different entity than the registered holder. Both are historical artifacts. The registry object is the current answer: Economedia AD, Sofia.
• No subscriber-style naming and no hosting-style naming. The address count, the prefix count and the two upstreams all point at a company running its own publishing platform and office network on provider-independent space.
• The prefixes span 193.111.194.0/24–193.111.195.0/24 and 193.194.140.0/24–193.194.141.0/24: two adjacent pairs, an early-RIPE-era allocation shape rather than assembled inventory.

Interesting

Economedia's outlets are among the better-known independent business publications in Bulgaria, and the group has run its own routed network since the early days of RIPE allocations. Very few newspaper publishers anywhere hold an AS number.
