Telecommunications and distinct from BT's UK consumer network.

What it's used for

• IP transit, managed WAN and enterprise connectivity for BT Global's business customers across Europe and beyond.
• Roughly half a million IPv4 addresses, mostly serving corporate customers rather than residential broadband.

Notable

• BT runs multiple ASNs. The UK domestic and BTnet side is announced separately from [AS2856](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS2856); 3300 is the pan-European and international business network.
• This ASN carries the lineage of BT's continental backbone, built out under the BT Ignite brand around 2000 and later absorbing the European assets of the BT/AT&T Concert joint venture after it unwound.

Interesting

• The round, low number is a coincidence of sequential allocation, but it does sit in the range handed out to the large incumbent carriers who joined the commercial internet early.
