GORGE-NETWORKS is Gorge Networks LLC, the internet provider for the Columbia River Gorge — Hood River, Wasco and Sherman counties in Oregon. In 2020 Gorge Networks merged with Hermiston-based Eastern Oregon Telecom to form Blue Mountain Networks, and this AS now carries the combined operator's space.

What it's used for

Rural fixed broadband. RIS sees 8 IPv4 prefixes / ~15,104 addresses, 1 IPv6 prefix (2606:b180::/32), and 15 observed neighbours — a small eyeball ISP that multihomes and peers modestly, not a carrier. Reverse DNS names the access technology directly: static-broadband-16-5.gorge.net, pppbroadband24-5.gorge.net, static-routed.176-5.gorge.net. PPP and static-broadband pools with a smattering of routed customer blocks is the signature of a wireless/DSL/fibre access network serving homes and small businesses across a dispersed rural service area.

The prefix registrants look scattered at first glance — GORGE-NET-BLK1, GNBLCK-3, EOT-1, EOT-DYNAMIC, BLMSURELINE2018, BLMSURELINEV4 — which is the pattern that usually signals an IP-leasing operation. It is not one here. EOT is Eastern Oregon Telecom and BLM is Blue Mountain Networks: every registrant is a member of the same merged corporate group, and the space wears matching first-party rDNS (gorge.net on the Gorge blocks, eotnet.net on the EOT blocks, where an acquired network kept its original naming). Self-registered space plus first-party rDNS means a real operator, however untidy the inventory looks.
