AS10052 KNU-AS Kyungpook National University

KNU-AS-KR is Kyungpook National University, one of South Korea's national flagship universities, based in Daegu. AS10052 carries the campus network for its faculties, halls of residence and research institutes.

General campus connectivity: teaching, administration, research computing and student accommodation. The AS announces 33 IPv4 prefixes totalling 65,536 addresses plus one IPv6 /48, and the shape of that table is the giveaway. The block is a single legacy 155.230.0.0/16 announced as a whole and then re-announced in dozens of more-specific /22s and /24s. That is not a provider carving up space for customers; it is a campus deaggregating its own /16 so that individual buildings, departments and subnets can be traffic-engineered across more than one upstream. The sampled reverse DNS supports it directly: 155.230.20.5 resolves to ns-rtr1.knu.ac.kr, a router-and-nameserver name in the university's own .ac.kr zone.

An education network, and the evidence settles it in both directions. 65,536 addresses against just five observed BGP neighbours rules out any wholesale role: a transit carrier holding a /16 would peer with hundreds of ASes. Five is what a university looks like when it multihomes to the national research network and a commercial ISP or two.
