AS9949 HOSEO-AS Hoseo University

AS9949 (HOSEO-AS) is held by Hoseo University, a private university in South Korea with campuses in Asan, Cheonan, Dangjin and Seoul. It is a campus network AS: the university originates its own address space so its sites can be multihomed across the Korean academic and commercial networks.

Three upstreams and thirteen thousand addresses is a campus, not a service provider — enough space for laboratories, student networks, university-hosted services and dormitories across several sites, with none of the peering breadth a commercial network of the same size would show.

What makes the announcement list interesting is where the space comes from. The largest prefix, 210.119.104.0/21, sits inside KREONet — the Korea Research Environment Open Network run by KISTI — and 134.75.122.0/24 is likewise carved out of KREONet's 134.75.0.0/16. Others fall in 203.241.x, 210.110.x, 210.125.x and 220.x ranges long associated with Korean academic and public allocations. So the university does not hold one clean block; it announces a patchwork of sub-delegations handed down from the national research network and other academic pools, which is precisely how Korean campus networks are addressed.

• The registry shows the same space carrying route objects from KREONet's own AS1237 as well as from AS9949, which is normal for a university that originates delegated research-network space itself.
• The multi-campus structure explains the fragmentation: separate /22s and /24s per site rather than a single aggregate.
• No IPv6 announced, despite the research-network association where IPv6 is usually available.
