AS9697 CJHAEUNDAEGIJANG-AS-KR LG HelloVision Corp.

AS9697 (CJHAEUNDAEGIJANG-AS-KR) is held by LG HelloVision Corp., South Korea's largest cable system operator. The handle preserves the name of the Haeundae/Gijang regional cable franchise in the Busan area, one of the many local systems the company absorbed, and the AS still carries that system's broadband subscribers.

What it's used for

This is a residential access network. RIS sees 105 IPv4 prefixes carrying 146,176 addresses, no IPv6, and only 1 observed neighbour. That single-upstream, six-figure-address-count shape is the clearest possible eyeball signature: the space is not being resold to other networks, it is being handed to the operator's own cable modem subscribers, and the AS reaches the rest of the internet through its parent group rather than by peering in its own right. The prefix list is consistent with that reading. A few /20s (180.182.208.0/20, 113.131.112.0/20, 42.82.48.0/20) anchor the space and the bulk of the announcements are /21s and smaller carved from the same 110.46, 113.131, 36.38 and 42.82 blocks, which is how a cable operator deaggregates address pools across its access regions.

• LG HelloVision was formerly CJ HelloVision. LG Uplus agreed to buy a controlling stake from CJ ENM in February 2019, the deal cleared the Fair Trade Commission and the Ministry of Science and ICT later that year, and the company was rebranded accordingly.
• LG HelloVision holds a number of separate legacy ASNs, each inherited from a regional cable system it consolidated. Its Yeongdong-area system sits on [AS9698](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS9698).
• No IPv6 is announced at all, which for a Korean residential network of this size is a meaningful gap.
