AS9336 (XYZTELECOM-AS-AP) is held by XYZ Telecom Pty Ltd, an Australian carrier founded in 2022 that acquired the data-centre and network assets of Spirit Technology Solutions (the former Spirit Telecom) in 2023. The AS was previously registered as SPIRITTELECOM-AS-AP, and it still carries the network Spirit built.

What it's used for

XYZ Telecom markets itself around fixed wireless, Ethernet, dark fibre and NBN backhaul, with a wholesale pitch aimed at MSPs and other ISPs. The routing inventory tells a slightly different and more concrete story: this AS is carrying end-user broadband. RIS sees 17 IPv4 prefixes totalling about 26,880 addresses, no announced IPv6, and 13 BGP neighbours. That is an access network's shape — a modest, subscriber-sized address pool with a handful of upstreams and peers, not the thousands of adjacencies a wholesale transit business would accumulate. The reverse DNS is unambiguous about what sits in the space: 118-127-96-5.static.spirit.net.au (static customer assignments in Spirit's legacy zone) and a run of dyn.wires.net.au and ip.wiresbroadband.com names, which are dynamically assigned customer addresses under the Wires Broadband brand. Static and dynamic CPE naming side by side is the fingerprint of a mixed residential and small-business ISP.

• The PTR zones (spirit.net.au, wires.net.au) are the acquired brands' naming, still in place after the asset transfer. rDNS shows what the space carries, and here it carries broadband subscribers.
• The prefix list is a patchwork of /19 down to /24 blocks across many APNIC ranges, consistent with a network assembled through a series of small-ISP acquisitions.
• No IPv6 is announced at all, which is a real gap for an Australian access provider.
