ASVNET is the corporate network of Axel Springer SE, the Berlin-headquartered media group behind Bild, Die Welt, Business Insider and Politico. It is an enterprise AS: a publisher running its own address space, not an ISP.

What it's used for

Axel Springer announces roughly 65,000 IPv4 addresses, almost all of it inside the legacy 145.243.0.0/16 block, plus a single 91.220.134.0/24 and one IPv6 prefix. The routing shape is that of a corporate estate rather than a service provider: seven IPv4 prefixes, only two observed BGP neighbours, and no downstream networks of its own. A publisher of this size buys transit from upstreams and does not resell it.

No PTRs came back on the addresses sampled inside the announced prefixes, so the pack offers no direct evidence of what individual hosts do. That is common for corporate estates and is not itself unusual.

Notable

• The /16 has been announced by this AS since at least the earliest RIS records, consistent with an early-1990s European allocation to a large publishing house.
• Despite the group's scale (thousands of employees across dozens of titles and digital brands), the announced footprint is modest. Most of Axel Springer's consumer-facing properties are served from third-party CDNs and clouds, not from this AS.
• Do not read the ASVNET handle as a service-provider brand. It is an internal label; the network carries Axel Springer's own infrastructure.
