AS8642 TELENOR-

Telenor Sverige AB (TELENOR-SE) — the Swedish arm of the Norwegian Telenor

group, registered in Karlskrona. This is a secondary, ancillary AS, not the

company's main network.

What it's used for

• It announces a single 192.165.86.0/24 provider-independent block (SE-TSAB-PI) and nothing else — roughly 256 addresses in total. The prefix carries no public rDNS delegation.
• The AS is single-homed: its only observed BGP neighbour is Telenor Sverige's own primary network, [AS8434](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS8434), which shares the identical TELENOR-SE handle. AS8642 exists to originate one block behind it.

Notable

• Deliberately left unclassified. Telenor Sverige is a large consumer broadband and mobile operator, but that activity lives on other ASNs; this one carries no subscriber pools, no dynamic naming and effectively no address space. Inferring the parent's kind onto an AS that carries nothing would put 256 addresses of unknown use into an eyeball bucket.
• The abuse contact on the block points at abuse@bredband.com, a legacy of Bredbandsbolaget, the Swedish broadband provider Telenor absorbed.

Interesting

• Two ASNs, one name. AS8434 and AS8642 both register as TELENOR-SE, which is a common trap: the handle identifies the company, not the network, and only one of the pair carries anything meaningful.
