AS8468 ENTANET ENTANET International Limited

Entanet (ENTANET, registered to Cityfibre Limited) is a long-running UK

wholesale internet provider. It does not sell to end users directly; it supplies

broadband, leased lines and voice to a channel of reseller ISPs and managed

service providers, who brand the service as their own.

What it's used for

• Wholesale broadband and Ethernet circuits delivered through partner ISPs to UK businesses and, via those partners, some home users.
• Hosted voice and connectivity services for the same reseller channel.

Notable

• Almost every address resolves to IP-WITH-DASHES.static.enta.net, with named business sites mixed in — a channel/wholesale footprint rather than a dynamically addressed consumer eyeball network.
• Because the addresses are handed to partner ISPs and their customers, the organisation named on the AS is rarely the organisation actually using a given block.

Interesting

• CityFibre bought Entanet in 2017 to gain a wholesale partner base, and agreed in 2026 to sell the business on to telecoms entrepreneur Tom O'Hagan while keeping Entanet as a wholesale customer of its fibre network. The RIPE handle still reads ENTANET regardless of who owns it.
