What it's used for

• Residential and small-business internet: fibre, cable, DSL and fixed wireless across small-town and rural Ontario.
• Reverse DNS is unambiguously subscriber-shaped — IP-ADDR.dhcp.execulink.com for its own access network and IP-ADDR.tpia.execulink.com for connections resold over incumbent networks under Canada's Third Party Internet Access regime.

Notable

• The TPIA naming is the tell that a large slice of this AS is wholesale-resold last mile: the customer is Execulink's, but the copper or coax belongs to Bell or Rogers. The addressing, and therefore the AS, is Execulink's.
• Some space still carries golden.net rDNS, from the Kitchener-Waterloo ISP Execulink absorbed — a reminder that a handle and a domain outlive the company that created them.

Interesting

• Execulink has been operating since the dial-up era and registered this AS with ARIN in January 1997, making it one of the older continuously independent Canadian ISPs still holding its original number.
