What it's used for

• VPS and cloud hosting. Its APNIC block is registered with the netname SKYWOLF-CLOUD in Hong Kong; its ARIN /24 is registered as SKYWOLF-BACKBONE. Both are in the company's own name, and it publishes a looking glass and BGP community documentation.
• Small-scale transit. Despite holding under a thousand IPv4 addresses of its own, it has upstreams from a tier-1 carrier and appears as the upstream for several dozen small downstream networks — the low-cost BGP transit that hobbyist and micro-ASNs buy to get their prefixes routed.
• IPv6 is where most of the network lives: it announces considerably more IPv6 prefixes than IPv4, drawn from both ARIN and APNIC ranges.

Notable

• PeeringDB types this network as "Cable/DSL/ISP". The inventory does not support that. There are no subscriber pools, no consumer-style reverse DNS, and no eyeball footprint anywhere in the space. It is a hosting and transit operation. Where a self-description and the announced prefixes disagree, the prefixes are the honest witness.
• Its prefixes span two RIRs, but unlike an address-brokering shape they are registered to Skywolf itself, not to unrelated third parties — so this is a genuine, if small, operator.
• Do not read the low AS number as early-internet pedigree. Skywolf is a recently built commercial network; the number long predates the company.

• The IPv4 footprint is tiny while the customer cone is not. That inversion — a few hundred addresses, dozens of downstreams — is characteristic of the modern "cheap transit for small ASNs" niche, where the product is routing, not addresses.
