NUS-AS-AP is the network of the National University of Singapore, run by its NUS Information Technology group. NUS is Singapore's oldest and largest university and one of Asia's leading research institutions.

What it's used for

• Campus networking and research: faculties, labs, halls of residence, and the university's public-facing services. Its entire footprint is the legacy 137.132.0.0/16 block, announced as the /16 plus a set of more-specific /24s.
• The more-specific announcements alongside the covering /16 are typical of a campus that multi-homes parts of its space or steers particular subnets over particular upstreams.

Notable

• A full /16 to a single university is a legacy-era allocation. It gives NUS about 65,000 addresses, more than most commercial ISPs in the region hold, and it has never needed to grow beyond it.
• The AS carries the institution's address on the public internet, not a subscriber base. Its ~65k addresses are all institutional, which makes it a useful example of how differently university and eyeball networks use comparable amounts of space.
