BAYAN-TELECOMMUNICATIONS is Bayan Telecommunications, Inc. ("BayanTel"), a

Philippine fixed-line and broadband carrier. Globe Telecom took majority control

in 2015 and BayanTel now operates as a Globe subsidiary.

What it's used for

• Fixed broadband and business connectivity across the Philippines, carried on the legacy BayanTel network that Globe absorbed.
• Announces roughly 300k IPv4 addresses across a few hundred prefixes, mostly APNIC space; reverse DNS across the subscriber ranges resolves under bti.net.ph.

Notable

• An eyeball network, not a backbone: the address space is broadband subscriber and business-access pools, distinct from Globe's own primary AS.
• Bayan has also operated peering/exchange initiatives aimed at keeping Philippine traffic domestic rather than hairpinning through Hong Kong or the US.

Interesting

• The BayanTel brand has been steadily wound down inside Globe, but the AS and its address space remain very much in service — a common pattern where the network outlives the brand that built it.
