EQUANT-ASIA is the Asian regional AS of Orange Business, the enterprise

services arm of Orange, and carries the name of its predecessor Equant — the

global corporate data network that Orange absorbed.

What it's used for

• Regional routing for Orange Business's Asia-Pacific enterprise network, which sells managed connectivity, IP-VPN and network services to multinational companies.
• Announces only a small slice of address space directly (a single /24 scale block); the ASN's role is carrying enterprise traffic, not holding large pools of customer addresses.

Notable

• Registered in Hong Kong through APNIC, with peering handled centrally by Orange (peering@orange.com) and an AS-EQUANT-ASIA as-set.
• The Equant name persists in routing registries decades after the brand was retired commercially — a good example of a handle outliving the company that created it.
