• Institutional address space. IPs here belong to a university, so they are a mix of staff and student devices, lab machines, and campus servers rather than consumer broadband subscribers.
• The low AS number reflects how early US universities joined the routed internet — they were among the first organisations to need their own ASNs.

Interesting

• The University of Oregon runs Route Views, the long-running public BGP route-collector project. Route Views gives researchers and operators a view of the global routing table from many vantage points, and it is one of the primary sources behind a great deal of internet-routing research and historical BGP data.
