NYINTERNET is NYI, a New York City colocation and managed-hosting provider with facilities in Manhattan and northern New Jersey. It announces 28 IPv4 prefixes (roughly 46,800 addresses) plus IPv6 out of 2610:1c0::/32 and 2610:1c1::/32, behind 40 observed neighbours.

What it's used for

Colocation, dedicated and managed servers. Reverse DNS across the sample is uniformly first-party and uniformly static: 64.147.96.5.static.nyinternet.net, 173.228.128.5.static.nyinternet.net, 66.111.0.5.static.nyinternet.net and so on, with a backup.starfish.nyi.net host in the New Jersey block. Static per-address forward-mapped names over tens of thousands of addresses is server space, not access space. There is not a DHCP or PPP pool in sight, which is what separates a host from an eyeball ISP of the same size.

Every sampled prefix is registered in ARIN to NYI itself, under NYIC-* handles including NYIC-NJ1-BLK01 for the New Jersey facility. Self-registered space with self-branded rDNS is the strongest available evidence of a real operator, and it clears the leased-address shape that a scattered multi-block inventory can otherwise suggest.

40 neighbours against 46,800 addresses is the profile of a well-connected metro host: enough peering to matter in the New York exchanges, nowhere near the hundreds of adjacencies a wholesale transit carrier accumulates. One customer block wears its own rDNS (static.serverforvoip.com), a tenant naming its own hosts inside NYI's 67.221.176.0/20, which is ordinary colocation behaviour.

NYI has been a fixture of the New York hosting scene since the 1990s and holds a native /32 of IPv6 alongside a second /32, unusually deep IPv6 provisioning for a host of this size.
