AS11281 ROBLOX-CORPORATE

ROBLOX-CORPORATE is the corporate/office network of Roblox Corporation, the San Mateo, California company behind the Roblox gaming platform. It is deliberately not the platform: RIS sees only 9 IPv4 prefixes, 2,304 addresses, 2 IPv6 /48s and 7 observed neighbours.

What it's used for

Roblox's own enterprise footprint — offices, corporate IT, and the edge of its internal network — rather than the player-facing game service. The scale settles it. A platform serving tens of millions of concurrent users cannot run on 2,304 addresses behind seven neighbours; that is an ordinary large-enterprise silhouette. Roblox's production platform lives on a separate, much larger ASN, [AS22697](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS22697), which announces an order of magnitude more space and reaches the internet through many more upstreams. When you see traffic from AS11281, you are almost certainly looking at Roblox the employer, not Roblox the game.

Every announced prefix is registered to Roblox itself — RC-1406 (org: Roblox Corporation) across the 204.13.168.0–204.13.174.0 run and 204.9.184.0/24, plus ROBLOX-NET5 on 23.173.192.0/24. Self-registered space announced by its own holder, with contiguous /24s from a single RIR: a plain first-party enterprise inventory with none of the scattered-registrant, multi-RIR shape of leased address space.

Interesting

This is a textbook case of a low AS number that is not an old network. AS11281 sits in a range handed out in the 1990s, but ARIN's registry shows this number registered to Roblox on 18 October 2017 and last changed nine days later. The number was recycled; the holder is a company that did not exist when the number was first issued. Read the registry, not the digits.
