AS9862 RAYNET1 GORayNet

AS9862 (RAYNET1-KR) is the second autonomous system of GORayNet (지오레이넷, trading as RayNet, raynet.co.kr), a small South Korean internet service provider based in the Gasan Digital Complex in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. Its sibling is [AS9853](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS9853) (RAYNET-AS), and the company also holds a third ASN registered as RAYNET2.

What it's used for

RIS observes 16 IPv4 prefixes totalling 5,632 addresses, no IPv6, and only one BGP neighbour. The single upstream is the key signal: this is a network that buys transit and delivers it to customers, not one that sells connectivity to other networks. A wholesale carrier of any size peers with hundreds of ASes; this one peers with one.

The address space is more coherent than its sibling's. Most of it sits in a 122.129.240.0/22 region announced both as the covering /22 and as its constituent /24s, with a second cluster around 121.157.0.0/22 and an outlier at 221.165.31.0/24. Announcing a /22 and its /24s at the same time is a common traffic-engineering or customer-delegation pattern rather than an accident: the aggregate holds the route while individual /24s track specific customers or sites.

Split across two ASNs, GORayNet's total routed footprint is still well under ten thousand addresses. That is consistent with what the company sells: dedicated internet lines and in-building connectivity to businesses and office towers, reselling capacity from a larger Korean carrier rather than operating a backbone of its own.
