AS9698 YOUNGDOONG-AS-KR LG HelloVision Corp.

AS9698 (YOUNGDOONG-AS-KR) is held by LG HelloVision Corp., the cable system operator that resulted from LG Uplus taking control of CJ HelloVision. The handle carries the name of one of the regional cable systems the group consolidated, and this AS still serves that system's broadband customers.

What it's used for

The evidence points squarely at consumer broadband access. RIS sees 111 IPv4 prefixes carrying 70,912 addresses, no IPv6, and a single observed neighbour. One upstream and seventy thousand addresses means the space terminates on subscribers rather than being resold: a transit network would show a large peer count, and an enterprise would not need this much space. The prefix structure is the familiar cable-operator pattern. Two /18s (120.136.64.0/18 and 58.146.192.0/18) and a /19 form the backbone of the allocation, and the other hundred-plus announcements are /20s and /21s cut from those same blocks plus 183.78 and 123.254 space, i.e. the operator deaggregating its own pools rather than announcing anything foreign.

• LG HelloVision is the largest cable MSO in South Korea. LG Uplus acquired a controlling stake from CJ ENM in a deal announced in February 2019 and approved by regulators later that year, after which CJ HelloVision became LG HelloVision.
• The group runs several distinct legacy ASNs, one per absorbed regional system rather than one national eyeball AS. The Haeundae/Gijang system is on [AS9697](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS9697), and the two behave identically in routing terms.
• Like its sibling systems, this AS announces no IPv6 whatsoever.
