AS9551 KMUTT-AP King Mongkuts University of Technology

AS9551 (KMUTT-AP) is held by King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, a public research university in Bangkok known for engineering and technology. It is one of three autonomous institutions that descend from the original King Mongkut's Institute of Technology, which split in 1986; its North Bangkok sibling runs [AS9533](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS9533).

What it's used for

Those two ranges are the tell. 202.28.0.0/16 and 202.44.0.0/16 are shared Thai higher-education blocks, allocated centrally and subdivided among member institutions — the same ranges appear under KMUTNB's [AS9533](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS9533) and under Khon Kaen University's [AS9546](https://asn.ipinfo.app/AS9546). A university announcing a handful of /24s carved from a national academic block is the standard Thai pattern, and announcing them individually rather than as an aggregate reflects the fact that they were never one contiguous allocation to begin with.

Only 2 BGP neighbours are observed. Two upstreams on 3,328 addresses is an end-user network: it buys connectivity, most likely from the national education and research network plus a commercial carrier, and serves its own students, staff, labs and campus systems.

Notable

• KMUTT is a research-intensive university, so this space fronts laboratory and research systems as well as ordinary campus services.
• No IPv6 is announced, which is common among the Thai academic ASes in this range.
