AS9455 EDUNET-AS KERIS

AS9455 (EDUNET-AS) is held by KERIS, the Korea Education and Research Information Service — the national institution under the Ministry of Education that builds and runs South Korea's ICT infrastructure for schools and academic research. EDUNET is KERIS's flagship national teaching-and-learning portal for teachers and students; the AS is named after it.

What it's used for

RIS observes 27 IPv4 prefixes totalling 6,912 addresses and only 2 BGP neighbours. No IPv6 is announced. Almost every prefix is a /24 and nearly all of them fall inside a single contiguous run — 210.102.96.0 through 210.102.127.0 — which means this is one /19-sized allocation deaggregated into individual /24 announcements rather than a network built from scattered acquisitions.

That per-/24 deaggregation with only two upstreams is the profile of a service-hosting operator rather than an access network: KERIS is not connecting eyeballs, it is publishing national education platforms. Alongside EDUNET, KERIS runs RISS (the research information sharing service that fronts Korean journal articles and dissertations) and the school Digital Library Support System, and this address space is where those public-facing systems live.

The neighbour count settles the role. Seven thousand addresses with two peers is an end-site: everything reaches the internet through a small number of upstreams, and none of the space carries third-party traffic. A carrier at this address count would show tens or hundreds of neighbours.
