AS9422 SOLNET-ID PT SOLNET INDONESIA

AS9422 (SOLNET-ID) is held by PT Solnet Indonesia, a fixed-broadband and fibre operator headquartered in Batam and serving customers across Sumatra, the Riau Islands and a scattering of other Indonesian cities. It sells residential and business internet access, plus data-centre and backbone connectivity.

What it's used for

This is an access network. In the RIS view the AS originates 49 IPv4 prefixes totalling 9,728 addresses, together with 33 IPv6 /48s out of 2407:7c0::/32 — a lot of separate small announcements for a fairly modest amount of v4 space, which is what an ISP looks like when it has grown by picking up /23s and /24s from APNIC over many years rather than receiving one large block. The reverse DNS settles the role beyond doubt: essentially every sampled address answers to a name of the form FAST-INTERNET-<ip>.solnet.net.id, a uniform subscriber-pool naming scheme applied consistently across 202.154.188.0/22, 43.225.186.0/23, 103.246.0.0/23, 106.0.50.0/23 and the rest. Only 2 BGP neighbours are observed, so the network buys transit from a very small number of upstreams and does not resell it; the IPv6 deployment across 33 delegated /48s suggests the customer edge is dual-stacked.

• The solnet.net.id PTR pattern is applied uniformly across the entire IPv4 footprint, marking it as end-user access space rather than hosting.
• The v4 space is fragmented across several APNIC ranges (202.154, 202.43, 103.246, 103.206, 43.225, 106.0), the accumulation pattern of a long-lived regional ISP.
• Solnet also holds a second, higher-numbered ASN; this legacy one carries the announced customer space.
