AS9387 (SHARPTEL-AS-AP) is held by Sharp Telecom (Private) Limited, an internet service provider based in Karachi, Pakistan, operating under the sharptel.pk domain. It is a regional provider rather than a national carrier, selling broadband and business connectivity in the Karachi market. The name has no connection to the Japanese electronics manufacturer Sharp.

What it's used for

The routing footprint is small and highly fragmented, which is what an established but modest ISP in an address-poor market looks like. RIS observes 23 IPv4 prefixes totalling only 5,888 addresses — almost every announcement is an individual /24 — alongside two IPv6 prefixes (2401:4100::/33 and a /48 more-specific out of it) and 5 observed BGP neighbours. The IPv4 space is scattered across three unrelated parent ranges (180.178.128.0 upward, 113.203.234–240, plus singleton /24s in 116.0.60.0 and 122.50.2.0), each acquired in small increments over time rather than as one allocation. Five neighbours is consistent with a handful of upstream transit providers and local peering, not with a wholesale role.

• The IPv6 holding is far larger than the IPv4 one in relative terms: a /33 is an enormous amount of v6 space next to under 6,000 v4 addresses, a common shape in markets where IPv4 scarcity bites hardest.
• The single sampled PTR (relay.dubilab.com) reflects a customer or hosted service inside the space. It tells you what the block carries, not who owns it.
• Fragmented /24-only announcements make a network more exposed to prefix-hijack and filtering issues than a network holding aggregatable space.
