AS9329 SLTINT-AS-AP Sri Lanka Telecom Internet

AS9329 (SLTINT-AS-AP) is the Internet-services AS of Sri Lanka Telecom, the country's incumbent fixed-line operator (marketed today alongside its mobile arm as SLT-Mobitel). It is the network most Sri Lankan fixed broadband subscribers sit behind.

What it's used for

This is an eyeball access network, and the routing shape says so plainly. RIS observes 146 IPv4 prefixes carrying about 264,448 addresses and 10 IPv6 prefixes, against only 12 BGP neighbours. A quarter of a million addresses with barely a dozen neighbours is the signature of an access network serving its own subscribers: the traffic terminates on customers, not on other people's networks, so there is no reason to accumulate the hundreds of adjacencies a wholesale carrier would show. The inventory is consistent with a national incumbent that received large contiguous allocations rather than scraping together scattered blocks: a 124.43.0.0/16, several /18s (203.94.64.0/18, 222.165.128.0/18, 220.247.192.0/18, 203.115.0.0/18) and a dense run of /19s out of 112.135.0.0. IPv6 is deployed out of 2402:d000::/32, carved into /40s, which is how a broadband operator hands space to regional aggregation. Sampled reverse DNS returns v4.dns.slt.lk on several addresses, confirming SLT's own resolver infrastructure lives inside the space.

• Sri Lanka Telecom is the incumbent telco; this AS carries its consumer and business Internet access, not a separate transit product.
• The slt.lk PTRs are operator infrastructure (recursive DNS), which is a useful positive confirmation that the holder actually operates the space.
• IPv6 is real here, not token: a full /32 broken into multiple routed /40s.
