AS9230 (BOL-BD-AP) is held by Bangladesh Online Limited, an established Bangladeshi internet service provider trading as BOL and part of the BEXIMCO group. It sells internet access, hosting and managed IT services, with its network centred on Dhaka.

What it's used for

This is a working access ISP, and the reverse DNS says so plainly. Nearly every sampled address resolves under bol-online.com, in a mix of formulaic customer naming (IP-96-005.bol-online.com, 103.129.244-005.bol-online.com, 42.5.bol-online.com) and named infrastructure hosts (mx3.bol-online.com, mx5.bol-online.com, switch01ep.dhaka.net). Customer-address templating plus in-house mail and switch records is the signature of a provider that both connects subscribers and runs services for them.

The routing backs it up. RIS sees 95 IPv4 prefixes carrying 17,920 addresses, 9 IPv6 prefixes, and 30 observed neighbours. Ninety-five announcements for under 18,000 addresses means heavy deaggregation: the estate is built out of a 182.163.96.0/19, a 202.84.32.0/20 and a 122.144.8.0/21 sliced down to /22s, /23s and smaller, plus later 103.x allocations. Thirty neighbours is a healthy local peering count for a national ISP — enough to show real presence at Bangladeshi exchange infrastructure, but nowhere near the fan-out of a wholesale carrier.
