AS9163 ONLIME-NET

AS9163 (Onlime-NET) is held by Onlime GmbH, a small German operator based at Bexen 2 in Aerzen, Lower Saxony. Onlime runs a satellite teleport and data-centre site in the Hamelin/Aerzen area and sells internet, data and voice connectivity from it.

What it's used for

The announced inventory is modest and unusually uniform: RIS sees 12 IPv4 prefixes totalling 3,072 addresses, and every one of them is a /24 drawn from a single contiguous run, 213.208.52.0/24 through 213.208.63.0/24. No IPv6 is announced at all. Splitting what is effectively a /20-sized run into twelve individually announced /24s is a deliberate choice: it lets each block be homed, filtered or handed to a different customer or site independently, at the cost of twelve routing-table slots instead of one.

One observed BGP neighbour is the decisive figure. A network with a single upstream is a customer of the internet, not a supplier of transit to it. Combined with 3,072 addresses, this is the footprint of a niche provider serving its own hosted services and a small set of connectivity customers out of one facility, rather than an access network with a subscriber base of any scale.
