services, and runs its own datacentre network.

What it's used for

• Server and cloud hosting. The address space is ~8,200 IPv4 out of 212.44.224.0/19, plus a 194.0.176.0/24, announced through two upstreams. No IPv6.
• rDNS is unambiguous server naming: srv-IP-DASHED.apo.mtp.oc3n.net — mtp for Montpellier — along with mail exchangers (mx2.oc3n.net) and named customer hosts.

Notable

• The customer hosts that do resolve are French businesses and hosting resellers running on OC3's space (for example syloe.net, a Montpellier managed-cloud firm, occupying several contiguous /24s). That is a normal hosting-provider inventory: one operator's block, subdivided among service customers, all under first-party rDNS conventions.
• No subscriber-access naming appears anywhere — no dsl-, ppp- or dynamic pools. This is a datacentre network, not an ISP.

Interesting

• The srv- prefix on almost every delegated name makes this AS unusually easy to read. Where many hosting providers leave customer space undelegated, OC3 auto-generates a name for each address, so the shape of the network is visible from rDNS alone.
