AS8909 AMURSU

AMURSU is the network of Amur State University (Амурский государственный

университет, AmGU), a public university in Blagoveshchensk, the capital of Amur

Oblast in Russia's Far East, on the Chinese border.

What it's used for

• Campus connectivity: the university's own systems, faculty and student access, and its public web presence.
• The AS announces a single 62.76.124.0/23 — 512 IPv4 addresses, no IPv6, and no observed BGP neighbours of its own, so it is reached entirely through a provider's routing.

Notable

• Institutional address space, not an eyeball network. There are no subscriber pools; a university this size numbers its labs, offices and servers out of one small block and nothing more.
• No rDNS is delegated on the prefix, which is common for Russian regional universities whose external footprint is a handful of public services.

Interesting

• The 62.76/16 range it sits in is RIPE space, not an early-internet allocation, so the low AS number reflects when the university joined the routing table rather than any pioneering role. Russian academic institutions picked up ASNs in bulk as the country's research network built out in the 1990s.
