AS8887 TESATEL-AS

TESATEL-AS is the network of TESATEL, s.r.o., a regional internet and cable-television operator based in Žilina, Slovakia. It sells broadband and TV to households, notably to the apartment blocks of the city's Hájik housing estate.

What it's used for

Residential access. The AS announces a single 31.170.64.0/19 (~8,192 addresses) plus one IPv6 prefix, with one observed neighbour — a single-homed local ISP, which is the normal shape for a Slovak municipal-scale operator. The address count is a good match for a subscriber base of a few thousand households in one city.

Notable

• No PTRs came back on the addresses sampled inside the /19. That is not proof the zone is undelegated; it just means the sampled addresses did not answer. The residential call therefore rests on the operator's business (internet + cable TV sold to housing cooperatives) rather than on reverse-DNS naming, and is held at medium confidence.
• One prefix, one upstream, one IPv6 prefix. There is no wholesale or transit surface here, and no hosting-style naming in evidence.
• First seen in BGP in 2011, well after the AS number itself would have been issued — the 31.170.0.0/16 range is post-exhaustion RIPE space, so the current inventory is much younger than the AS.
