AS8882 is held by AS8882 s.r.o., a Czech company registered in Karlovy Vary that has named itself after its own autonomous-system number. It is a small independent network with a presence at CE Colo Prague, and it currently announces no IPv4 at all.

What it's used for

Hard to say honestly, and the card says so rather than guessing. RIS observes zero IPv4 prefixes, a single IPv6 prefix, and only three neighbours. There is therefore no IPv4 space to sample and no reverse DNS to read, which removes the strongest evidence this project normally relies on. The public as8882.net site carries no service description; the contacts published in PeeringDB (peering@, operations@) are the generic set of a network operator rather than of a product company.

Notable

• An IPv6-only announcement is the whole story here. Most legacy ASNs still lean on their v4 blocks; this one has none in the global table, so whatever it carries, it carries over IPv6 or over addresses originated by someone else.
• The AS number dates to 1998, but the company's name is derived from the number, which usually means the number came first and the corporate identity was built around it.
• Left as other with low confidence. There is no evidence for hosting, transit or any eyeball kind, and inventing one from an empty inventory would be exactly the fabrication this project tries to avoid.
