UNET-AS-MK is UltraNet d.o.o., trading as Unet — the first Internet service provider in North Macedonia, established in Skopje in 1995, the year usually taken as the start of Internet service in the country.

What it's used for

Business connectivity, hosting and domain services. Unet describes itself as focused primarily on business users: it is one of the main registrars for .com.mk domains, with several thousand under its management, and it hosts customer web presence alongside providing access. The one PTR returned in the sample, nsc1.unet.com.mk, is a provider nameserver — the operator's own infrastructure, not a subscriber. No dynamic, DSL or PPPoE pool naming appeared anywhere in the sample, so there is no evidence of a consumer eyeball network here.

Notable

• Two contiguous /20s, 212.13.64.0/20 and 212.13.80.0/20 — about 8,200 addresses, no IPv6, and a single observed BGP neighbour. A small, tidy, single-upstream network.
• The 212.13.64.0/19 block has been announced from this AS since at least August 2000 and is still the whole of its inventory. Almost nothing about the routing has changed in twenty-five years.

Interesting

Being the country's first ISP left Unet in an unusual position: it is as much a registry and hosting business as a connectivity one, and its lasting footprint in North Macedonia is the domain names it administers rather than the addresses it announces.
