Siemens_UAE2 is held by Siemens AG, the German industrial and technology conglomerate. It is one of a family of per-region AS numbers Siemens has used to attach parts of its global corporate network, this one for its United Arab Emirates operations.

What it's used for

Corporate enterprise networking. The AS announces just two /24s — 141.29.236.0/24 and 141.29.164.0/24, 512 addresses in total — carved out of Siemens' own legacy 141.29.0.0/16. There is a single observed BGP neighbour, so this is one regional office network hanging off a single upstream, not a service provider.

No PTRs came back on the addresses sampled. That is common on internal corporate space and should not be read as anything more than that.

Notable

• The holder's country and the network's country differ: the registrant is Siemens AG in Germany, while the handle and the intended use point at the UAE. Geolocating this space to Munich would be as wrong as geolocating it to Dubai with confidence — it is corporate space attached to a specific regional site.
• 512 addresses is about as small as a routed enterprise presence gets. Everything that matters here is behind it, not in it.

Interesting

Siemens holds several low AS numbers from the era when large multinationals routinely registered one per major region. The addresses come from a single 141.29.0.0/16 legacy block, sliced thinly enough that two /24s on the far side of the world are announced independently.
