AS8822 MYNET_TRENTINO_CORE_NET

MYNET_TRENTINO_CORE_NET is Mynet Trentino SRL, the Trentino arm of Mynet — one of Italy's earliest ISPs (founded 1995), today running an owned fibre network across the northern regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige and Emilia-Romagna.

What it's used for

End-user access in and around Trento. Every sampled address resolves into the 4bone.mynet.tn.it zone with the pattern u-NN-IP-ADDR.4bone.mynet.tn.it — the u- prefix is a user slot, and the same template is applied uniformly across both announced prefixes. This is a customer-address zone: fibre and ADSL subscribers, residential and small business, not servers or backbone.

Notable

• Two IPv4 prefixes — 195.182.224.0/19 and a single 185.104.117.0/24 — totalling about 8,400 addresses, plus one IPv6 prefix. Very small, and entirely coherent: one old contiguous RIPE /19 plus a later top-up.
• Only one observed BGP neighbour. Mynet holds other AS numbers; this one carries a specific regional block rather than the group's interconnection.
• 195.182.224.0/19 has been in the routing table since at least August 2000, so the block and the AS have carried Trentino traffic for a quarter of a century.

Interesting

The tn.it in the rDNS is not a country-code chain — tn is Trento's province code inside Italy's geographic second-level domain scheme, which the ISP reused as its network zone.
