AS8811 TANAID

TANAID is a small Ukrainian telecommunications company, LLC TANAID, registered in the Balakliia area of Kharkiv oblast in November 2010. Its registered activity is telecommunications (NACE 61.90), and it operates under the domain tanaid.net.ua.

What it's used for

This is one of the smallest networks in its range. TANAID announces a single /22 — 91.231.148.0/22, about 1,024 usable addresses — with no IPv6 and exactly one observed BGP neighbour. A single prefix behind a single upstream is the routing profile of a local access provider serving one area, not a carrier or a hosting operation.

The prefix was first seen in BGP in October 2011, which lines up neatly with the company's 2010 registration. Unusually for a low-numbered AS, the number and the operator appear to be roughly contemporaries here rather than the AS being an early allocation later reissued.

Notable

• No PTRs were returned on any of the addresses sampled inside the announced prefix. That is not proof the reverse zone is undelegated, but it does mean there is no direct evidence in the pack of what the space carries. The classification rests on the operator's registered business and its routing shape, so treat it as provisional.
• Kharkiv oblast has been a front-line region since 2022. Small regional Ukrainian ISPs of this size have had a difficult operating environment, and a single-prefix, single-upstream network has no redundancy to fall back on.
