AS8774 ETYPE

OOO Kompaniya Etype (ETYPE) is a regional internet provider in Kaliningrad,

the Russian exclave on the Baltic. It sells home internet and digital TV to

apartments and private houses across the city and parts of the surrounding

Kaliningrad Oblast, alongside business connectivity.

What it's used for

• Consumer FTTx / Ethernet broadband and IPTV, plus leased-line service for local companies.
• The address space is one homogeneous subscriber estate: roughly 6,000 IPv4 addresses in a handful of /22s and /24s, essentially all of it resolving to sequential machine-generated names of the form IP-A-B-C-D.koenig.ru.

Notable

• koenig.ru is the tell. Koenig is the local shorthand for Kaliningrad, formerly Königsberg, and it is the domain Etype puts on its access network rather than its retail brand etype.ru. Reverse DNS naming an ISP's home turf rather than its trademark is common in Russian regional providers.
• This is eyeball space: uniform dashed-IP rDNS across every announced block, with no static-hosting, colocation or corporate naming mixed in.
• Small and geographically tight. A provider serving one oblast has no reason for scattered address blocks, and Etype's inventory is exactly that tidy: contiguous runs in 109.237.0.0/20, 195.135.212.0/22 and 185.113.208.0/22.

Interesting

• Kaliningrad is physically separated from the rest of Russia by Lithuania and Poland, so its transit paths run through the EU. Regional ISPs there peer very differently from their mainland counterparts.
