AS8751 MEDIASAT

Media Sat SRL (MEDIASAT) — a Bucharest-based Romanian telecom operator that

sells business-class connectivity: terrestrial and satellite internet, VoIP and

virtual PBX, data-centre services, and TV/radio broadcast transport.

What it's used for

• Corporate internet access, leased lines and satellite links for Romanian businesses, plus broadcast contribution and distribution for TV and radio.
• The address space is registered end to end to the company itself (SC-MEDIA-SAT-SRL netnames under the MEDIASAT-MNT maintainer), with the occasional assignment carved out to a named corporate customer. rDNS is mostly a single generic alfa.mediasat.ro label, with the odd infrastructure host such as datax5.mediasat.ro.

Notable

• B2B, not eyeball. Roughly 19,000 IPv4 addresses across ~28 prefixes, and not one dial-up, DSL, PPPoE, CGNAT or dynamic-pool naming convention anywhere in the sampled rDNS. This space carries company sites and hosted services, not home subscribers.
• The prefix list looks scattered (a 86.107.224.0/20 core plus many later /22s and /24s), which is the same silhouette an address broker wears. It is not one: every block is self-registered under the operator's own maintainer, and the rDNS is first-party.

Interesting

• Satellite is unusual to still find in a European operator's core product line. It survives here because broadcast contribution links and hard-to-reach rural business sites are exactly the two jobs fibre never quite finished taking over.
