RET N.V. (RET-AS) — Rotterdamse Electrische Tram — is the public transport

operator for Rotterdam and its region, running the city's metro, tram, bus and

ferry services. This AS carries RET's own corporate and operational network.

What it's used for

• Enterprise IT for a transit authority: offices, depots, stations, and the systems behind ticketing, passenger information and vehicle operations. About 6,100 IPv4 addresses in three contiguous 193.177.x /21s (RIPE netname RETNET) plus one IPv6 /48.
• The rDNS is generic IP-ADDR.biz.kpn.net, i.e. KPN's business-customer zone — RET is a KPN enterprise customer and the space is maintained under KPN's customer maintainer. There is no hosting, subscriber or public-facing naming.

Notable

• This is corporate address space belonging to a transport company, not an ISP, not a hosting network, and not consumer eyeball space — despite the AS looking like a small regional provider from its size. Two BGP neighbours and no downstreams confirm it: RET announces only its own network.
• The company name is a museum piece in itself: "Rotterdam Electric Tram" has been RET's legal name since the municipal tramway was electrified, long after the network grew to include metro lines and a fast ferry.
