AS8692 BRZ

Bundesrechenzentrum GmbH (BRZ) is Austria's Federal Computing Centre — the

state-owned company that runs IT and datacentre services for the Austrian federal

government, from tax and justice systems to the country's e-government portals.

What it's used for

• Hosting and connectivity for federal ministries and agencies. The announced prefixes are registered in the RIPE database to BRZ and to the agencies it serves, all under the same BRZ-MNT maintainer: AT-BRZ-* blocks plus AMSNET (Arbeitsmarktservice, the public employment service) and AMA-NET (Agrarmarkt Austria, the agricultural payments agency).
• Roughly 6,600 IPv4 addresses across four prefixes and one IPv6 /32 — small, contiguous and single-purpose.

Notable

• The space carries government workloads, not commercial hosting. BRZ is a service provider in form, but everything it announces belongs to the Republic of Austria's administration, which is what the address space should be read as.
• Almost no public rDNS is delegated on the announced ranges, a common posture for state IT estates.
• Only a handful of BGP neighbours: this is a single-site government network buying transit, not a carrier.
