Perm State National Research University (PSU-AS) — the classical university of

Perm, in the Russian Urals, founded in 1916 and one of the institutions granted

"national research university" status. The AS carries the campus network behind

psu.ru.

What it's used for

• Campus connectivity: about 4,350 IPv4 addresses across a small, contiguous 212.192.64.0/20 allocation, plus one IPv6 /48. rDNS is entirely first-party psu.ru — building networks (Korp5-NET.psu.ru, i.e. korpus, a campus block), gateway routers (gw-net64.psu.ru), named servers, and a legacy Dialup-NET.psu.ru / dialup-gw.psu.ru remnant of modem-era access.
• Faculty and student services, university-hosted servers, and research groups. There is no subscriber, hosting or commercial-customer naming anywhere in the space.

Notable

• A small, single-purpose institutional network: three BGP neighbours, one contiguous block, no downstreams. That is the classic profile of a university AS that buys transit and announces only its own campus.
• The addresses should be read as institutional — offices, labs, lecture halls, halls of residence — not as consumer eyeball space, even though student traffic flows through them.
