AS8677 WORLDLINE

WORLDLINE is Worldline SA, the European payments and transactional-services company. It grew up inside Atos, was floated in 2014 and fully separated in 2019, and is one of the largest payment processors in Europe.

What it's used for

Production infrastructure for payment processing and transactional services, not connectivity. The AS announces a long list of /24s carved almost entirely out of the legacy 160.92.0.0/16 block, plus a few 193.x and 89.106.x prefixes.

The reverse DNS is the whole story:

• ssl-prd-h0b-fo-hub-as-sticky-scl.ita.as8677.net — a production (prd) TLS front-end with load-balancer stickiness. This is application infrastructure, named by an operations team, not a network with customers.
• outside-front-ccbc-deviacc.aw.atos.net — an outward-facing front-end still in the Atos domain.
• sw-core.axime.com, flmd02.axime.com, disp03-113.axime.com — switches and servers under axime.com.

Notable

Axime is corporate archaeology. It was a French IT services group that merged with Sligos in 1997 to form Atos; Worldline is the descendant of that lineage's payments business. The domain has outlived two rounds of renaming and is still stamped on live production hosts, decades later.

Interesting

The mix of atos.net, axime.com and as8677.net naming inside one address estate is a good illustration of why reverse DNS beats a registry name: the holder field says "Worldline", but the machines remember every company this network used to belong to. The space carries a single enterprise's own systems, so it should not be read as hosting or as an ISP footprint.
