CNT-AS — Central Telegraph (Центральный телеграф), a Moscow telecom

operator whose consumer internet and IPTV service is sold under the QWERTY

brand. The AS carries that subscriber network.

What it's used for

• Home broadband in Moscow and the surrounding region. Roughly 260,000 IPv4 addresses across nine prefixes — several full /16s and /17s — with about a dozen BGP neighbours.
• The subscriber space resolves to host-IP-DASHED.qwerty.ru throughout: a flat, generated naming scheme covering the 77.41, 79.164 and 79.165 blocks. That is eyeball addressing, one PTR per customer address.
• Some older blocks (212.13.96.0/19, 212.15.96.0/19) carry no useful rDNS at all, returning only the raw classless-delegation names.

Notable

• The holder's name is a trap in the other direction: Central Telegraph sounds like a state telegraphy institution, and historically it was one — the Moscow central telegraph office. Today the AS is an ordinary consumer ISP, and the rDNS is what settles it.
• The QWERTY brand does not appear in the registry object anywhere. Only the rDNS connects the legal holder to the retail service.

Interesting

• Central Telegraph's building on Tverskaya Street is a Moscow landmark, and the company is one of the oldest continuously operating communications businesses in Russia. Its AS number now carries residential internet rather than telegrams.
