World Discount Telecommunication Polska Sp. z o.o. (BLUENET-AS) — a small

telecoms company in Lublin, Poland, trading as WDT. It has operated in Poland

since 2001 as the local arm of a US-founded discount-calling business.

What it's used for

• Voice services: cheap international, mobile, long-distance and local calling, VoIP telephony and call-centre build-outs. The AS announces a single provider-independent /22 — about 1,000 addresses — with two upstreams and no downstream networks.
• Reverse DNS is not published on any of the sampled addresses, so what the space actually carries cannot be confirmed from rDNS. Given the company's business, voice infrastructure and business customer connectivity are the likely uses.

Notable

• Not an eyeball ISP and not a hosting network: a small operator's own infrastructure block.
• The BLUENET-AS handle does not match the company name, which is common for older RIPE objects — handles outlive the brands and holders that created them.
• The low AS number should not be read as early-internet pedigree here; the registry object's dates do not establish when the number was first issued or to whom.

Interesting

• The empty reverse DNS across the entire prefix is itself the finding. A network with no PTR records tells you a lot about what it isn't — no subscriber pools, no public hosting, no mail estate.
