MAGINFO-AS is the network of MagInfo, the largest internet provider in

Magnitogorsk, the steel city in Chelyabinsk Oblast. The registry now records the

holder as TransTeleCom (TTK), the national carrier that took the operator over;

the handle and the reverse DNS still say MagInfo.

• Home internet and cable TV in and around Magnitogorsk, plus business lines. Subscriber addresses resolve under the operator's own mgn.ru domain, in forms like v-NNNNN-unlim.vpn.mgn.ru — the number is a session or account identifier and unlim is the unlimited tariff.
• Roughly 49,000 IPv4 addresses in fifteen prefixes; no IPv6 is announced.

Notable

• An eyeball network. These addresses front households in one Russian industrial city, so they geolocate to Magnitogorsk rather than to TTK's national footprint.
• The vpn. label in the reverse DNS is a trap. It does not mean this is VPN or proxy space. It is the access-concentrator naming used by many Russian ISPs, whose subscriber sessions were historically brought up as PPTP/L2TP tunnels to the provider. The hosts behind these names are ordinary home connections.
• The holder field and the handle disagree, as they do wherever a regional ISP is absorbed but its network keeps running under the old name.
