REDESTEL (Redes digitales de Telecomunicación en Internet) is **Redestel Networks

S.L.**, a Zaragoza-based Spanish ISP and hosting provider. It sells business

connectivity, datacentre hosting and domain services, and describes itself as a

business-only provider rather than a consumer ISP.

What it's used for

• Hosting and business connectivity out of Spanish datacentres. Most of the space carries flat provider-generated reverse DNS in the form HOST.SUBNET.redestel.com, the signature of addresses handed out to hosted servers and business customers.
• Customer-branded records appear throughout the range as well, including Spanish organisations that clearly are not the ISP, so an IP here often identifies a Redestel customer rather than Redestel itself.
• Some blocks look like commodity web and marketing hosting, with per-site vanity hostnames on the newer 185/8 ranges.

Notable

• Do not read this as consumer broadband. There are no dial-up, PPPoE or dynamic subscriber pools. The addressing looks like hosted servers and static business assignments.
• The inventory is a patchwork of roughly three dozen prefixes: an older contiguous core in 194.143.192.0/19 and 213.220.0.0/16 that is registered to Redestel, plus a few newer ranges that are registered to other Spanish companies. Treat the third-party ranges as routed-on-behalf-of, not as Redestel's own address space.

Interesting

• The company traces itself back to Encomix, one of Spain's earliest ISPs and web hosts, which was absorbed into PSINet Spain and later became Redestel Networks. The low AS number is a survivor of that lineage.
