operates under the networx.ch brand. The company describes itself today as a

networking consultancy with deep BGP and open-source routing experience, but it

also runs a real network: one RIPE allocation, 62.48.0.0/19, an IPv6 /32, an

open peering policy and a presence at the Equinix internet exchange in Zurich.

What it's used for

• Mostly server housing. The RIPE sub-assignments inside the /19 are unusually candid: CH-IBS-HOUSING-1/2/3 and CH-IBS-FOSS (server housing, including for open-source projects), CH-IBS-DNS, CH-IBS-INFRASTRUCTURE for routers and switches, CH-IBS-OFFICE, CH-IBS-WAN for links, and CH-IBS-VPN for VPN tunnel customers.
• A single downstream AS is visible behind it, so it also acts as a small upstream.

Notable

• Reverse DNS is almost entirely absent outside the routers (core1.networx.ch), so the registry sub-assignments, not rDNS, are what identify the space here.
• Small and coherent: roughly eight thousand addresses, one country, one allocation, no third-party or multi-RIR blocks. This is an operator's own network, not brokered space.
• One /24 is registered as a testnet for 4-byte AS experiments, a reminder that the operator's background is in routing software rather than mass hosting.
