AS8232 GXS-EUROPE

GXS-EUROPE is a handle that outlived its holder. It was the European AS of

GXS (Global eXchange Services), the B2B/EDI network spun out of General

Electric's Information Services business. GXS was acquired by OpenText in

2014, and the address space this AS announces now registers to *Opentext Software

GmbH*.

What it's used for

• B2B integration and electronic-data-interchange traffic: the managed trading-partner network GXS ran (the Trading Grid) and its successor OpenText business-network services, connecting enterprises' supply-chain and financial document flows.
• The two announced /23s come out of the legacy 149.235.0.0/16 block, which the registry lists with netname Opentext at a Munich-area address and status LEGACY.

Notable

• Enterprise service infrastructure, not hosting or transit. The endpoints here are B2B gateway and integration platforms operated for the company's own service; the space is not resold and carries no subscriber pools.
• The registry country on the parent block reads GB while the registered address is in Germany and the corporate parent is Canadian, a reminder that a legacy block's country field says little about where anything sits.
• Very small inventory (about 1,024 addresses) for a company of OpenText's size: most of its estate lives elsewhere, so do not read this AS as OpenText's whole network.
